Black people ask white people questions and it’s hilariously wholesome

Social media has only been around for a short amount of time. Compared to books, first written by the Sumerians and the Egyptians around 3500 BC, social media is still very young. It’s created tens of millions of jobs and changed the way we do business. Most importantly though, it’s brought us together. Despite the negatives, there is no denying this fact! We are much closer with people from all around the world than ever before.

The Afrocentric Films Collaborative decided to begin a conversation between their black and white audience, and it ended up being hilarious. They begun by simply asking, “OK black people, ask white people one question you always wanted to know.”

Anybody who is like me and scrolls through comment sections regularly will know this post could’ve easily caused chaos, rage and anxiety. However I always look for the positive, so curiosity gets the better of me. This time, humour seems to do the job of maintaining a good vibe! The commenters on the post, even after it was shared by tens of thousands of people, are mostly wholesome. People are respectful and good-natured, and funny!

Rather than the usual decent into madness, commenters just had fun. It’s always easier to have a good time when people are able to poke fun at themselves. It also opens up the door to further conversation and learning about each other. Isn’t that what the world needs more of?
